Au congrès MLA à Chicago de janvier 2014, Christine M. Probes (University of South Florida) a organisé une session WIF intitulée Voyages de femmes, entrepris et rapportés : Représentations littéraires et/ou artistiques. La session était une table ronde sur les représentations littéraires et artistiques de voyageuses françaises ou francophones allant du XVIIè siècle au présent, et sur les stratégies rhétoriques qu’elles utilisent. Les intervenants suivants y ont participé : Linda Alcott, Arline E. Cravens, Hélène Diaz Brown, Molly Krueger Enz, Perry J. Gethner et Catherine R. Montfort. Les genres et les sujets comprenaient la représentation de voyageuses, y compris les voyageuses de couleur, dans des pièces de thé« tre, dans les récits de voyages fantastiques ou mystiques, dans les mémoires et dans les romans épistolaires. La session a été très bien reçue et nous voulons donc vous inviter à soumettre des essais sur le sujet de ?Voyages de femmes, » souvent des voyages forcés pour un volume spécial orange de WIF Studies. Nous voudrions inclure des essais allant du Moyen Age au XXIè siècle.
At the MLA conference in Chicago (January 2014), Christine M. Probes (University of South Florida) organized a WIF session entitled Voyages de femmes, entrepris et rapportés: Représentations littéraires et/ou artistiques. The session was a roundtable on literary and artistic representations of women travelers by French and Francophone women from the seventeenth century to the present and on the rhetorical strategies they employ. Presenters were Linda Alcott, Arline E. Cravens, Hélène Diaz Brown, Molly Krueger Enz, Perry J. Gethner and Catherine R. Montfort. Genres and topics included representations of women travelers in plays, fantastic and mystical voyages, memoirs, epistolary novels, and depictions of women travelers of color. The session was very well received and we therefore invite you to submit essays on the topic of ?Voyages de femmes’, often forced voyages, for a special orange volume of WIF Studies. We aim at including articles ranging from the Middle Ages to the 21st century.
