The Department of French and Francophone Studies at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant or associate professor, beginning fall 2015. We are seeking candidates with a strong record of research and teaching experience in early modern and gender studies. We are a vibrant department with strengths in cultural history, women’s studies, Francophone studies, and the digital humanities. The ideal candidate would have an interest and experience in one or more of those areas, but we would be open to other interdisciplinary configurations with an early modern specialty. Start date is August 2015 and the teaching load is two courses per semester.
Applicants must have a Ph.D., native or near-native fluency in both French and English, an active research agenda, and a record of successful teaching at multiple levels. To apply, please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and a dossier (or contact information for 3 references) at https://app2.ohr.psu.edu/Jobs/External/EVMS2_External/currentap1.cfm#53338
Applications received by November 10, 2014, will be considered for MLA interviews; those arriving later will be accepted until the position is filled.
