New Voices in the Study of Early Modern Women and Gender
Toronto (31 oct. - 2 nov. 2024), avant le 15 avril 2024

Sixteenth Century Society Conference, CFP

Proposals by early career researchers for a roundtable or panel sponsored by the Society for the Study of Early Modern Women and Gender are invited for the 2024 meeting of the Sixteenth Century Society in Toronto, which will be held October 31-November 2, 2024, at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel. The session aims to showcase new work that supports the mission of the SSEMWG, which seeks to foster inclusive, creative scholarship on women and gender across the early modern world. Since the session seeks to provide a forum for interdisciplinary conversation, we encourage proposals from early career scholars working in a range of disciplines and national or global contexts.

Scholars who hold the rank of ABD or equivalent, or who hold a doctoral degree earned no later than five years after the submission deadline, are eligible to submit proposals. An institutional affiliation is not required, but those accepted for the session will need to become members of the Sixteenth Century Society, if they are not already. Session participants are also encouraged to join or renew their SSEMWG memberships. For more information, please visit the SSEMWG website: https://ssemwg.org/ and the SCS conference website:  https://www.sixteenthcentury.org/conference

Please submit an abstract of 250 words and a brief bio to Michelle Dowd at mmdowd1@ua.edu by April 15. Please also indicate any audio/visual requirements that you might need.
