Proposed Session at Sixteenth Century Studies Conference

18-20 August, 2016, in Bruges, Belgium.

Organizers:  Julie Campbell (Eastern Illinois University), Anne Larsen (Hope College), and Diana Robin (The Newberry Library)

This session invites papers on connections with early modern women in reform, scientific, and travel discourses. We are interested in papers that consider both national and cross-border forms of connections in England, the Continent, and the American Colonies. The focus may be on any of the following:

  • Reform movements and religious cults
  • Scientific Women, Men, and Lab Work
  • Scientific academies for knowledge sharing
  • The European Grand Tour and travel

Deadline for submission:  Monday, February 8, 2016.
