Travel costs up to $500 a person will be supported.<\/p>\n<div>Travel grant applications, including full conference and paper acceptance details should be directed to\u00a0<b>Amy Froide, SSEMWG Vice President\u00a0<\/b>at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:froide@umbc.edu\" rel=\"noreferrer\">froide@umbc.edu<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0<b>September 1, 2026\u00a0<\/b><\/div>\n<div>(for conferences through January 10, 2027. We will have a second deadline in December for Spring and Summer conferences).<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>How to apply<\/b>:\u00a0Please provide the following information with your expression of interest:<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Email from a faculty member or graduate advisor verifying your status in a graduate program;<\/li>\n<li>Conference paper details (title, panel, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>Confirmation of conference paper acceptance\/invitation;<\/li>\n<li>Conference details (including date &#038; location);<\/li>\n<li>Budget details, including other sources of received or potential funding (and amounts);<\/li>\n<li>Whether you have previously received an SSEMWG travel grant and, if so, when.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div><b>Criteria<\/b>:<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Member of SSEMWG (student membership is $20, please click\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/press.uchicago.edu\/ucp\/journals\/subscribe\/emw.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here\u00a0<\/a>for membership applications\/renewals);<\/li>\n<li>Graduate student in good standing;<\/li>\n<li>Presentation on a topic pertinent to SSEMWG&#8217;s mission.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Questions can be directed to Amy Froide (<a href=\"mailto:froide@umbc.edu\" rel=\"noreferrer\">froide@umbc.edu<\/a>).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Twice a year, the Society for the Study of Early Modern Women and Gender (SSWEMWG.org) provides conference travel support for up to 5 graduate students to present their work at national or international conferences.
