Greene, Associate Professor, Wellesley College<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Sherry Lindquist, Professor, Western Illinois University\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left;\">We\u00a0invite\u00a0established\u00a0and\u00a0emerging\u00a0scholars\u00a0of\u00a0art\u00a0history\u00a0as\u00a0well\u00a0as\u00a0advanced\u00a0graduate\u00a0students\u00a0to submit\u00a0proposals\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0eighth\u00a0iteration\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0Feminist\u00a0Art\u00a0History\u00a0Conference.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left;\">In\u00a0the\u00a0spirit\u00a0of\u00a0feminist\u00a0practice,\u00a0this\u00a0is\u00a0an\u00a0open\u00a0call\u00a0for\u00a0papers\u00a0that\u00a0may\u00a0address\u00a0any\u00a0historical period\u00a0(ancient\u00a0to\u00a0contemporary),\u00a0region,\u00a0and\u00a0issue\u00a0relevant\u00a0to\u00a0the\u00a0ways\u00a0in\u00a0which\u00a0gendered\u00a0ideologies\u00a0have\u00a0shaped\u00a0the\u00a0visual\u00a0arts\u00a0and\u00a0their\u00a0study.\u00a0We\u00a0especially\u00a0welcome\u00a0submissions\u00a0that\u00a0are\u00a0inclusive,\u00a0intersectional,\u00a0and\/or\u00a0interdisciplinary\u00a0in\u00a0topic\u00a0or\u00a0approach.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Topics\u00a0may\u00a0include\u00a0(but\u00a0are\u00a0not\u00a0limited\u00a0to)\u00a0artists,\u00a0movements,\u00a0works\u00a0of\u00a0art\u00a0and\u00a0architecture;\u00a0cultural\u00a0institutions\u00a0and\u00a0critical\u00a0discourses;\u00a0practices\u00a0of\u00a0collecting,\u00a0patronage,\u00a0and\u00a0display;\u00a0the\u00a0historiography\u00a0of\u00a0feminist\u00a0art\u00a0history;\u00a0the\u00a0gendering\u00a0of\u00a0objects,\u00a0spaces,\u00a0and\u00a0media;\u00a0the\u00a0reception\u00a0of\u00a0images;\u00a0and\u00a0issues\u00a0of\u00a0power,\u00a0agency,\u00a0gender,\u00a0and\u00a0sexuality\u00a0within\u00a0visual\u00a0and\u00a0material\u00a0cultures.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left;\">Following the Supreme Court&#8217;s overturning of Roe v. Wade in summer 2022, amidst the threats against LGBTQ+ lives, marriages, and families, and the continued infringement on related rights around the world, we hope the conference can provide a place to address how and why art and culture have historically served as a site of agency and resistance.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"v1MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: left;\">The conference will assume a hybrid format.
