Celles de Marie-Anne Barbier discr&eacute;ditent la tyrannie et l&rsquo;incomp&eacute;tence des chefs masculins en glorifiant le courage et l&rsquo;habilet&eacute; politique des femmes fortes, de m&ecirc;me que celles de Madeleine-Ang&eacute;lique de Gomez en exaltant la grandeur d&rsquo;une reine guerri&egrave;re ou la dignit&eacute; des princesses captives pers&eacute;cut&eacute;es. Dans le domaine de la com&eacute;die, Mlle Barbier renouvelle l&rsquo;id&eacute;al de l&rsquo;amour chevaleresque en accordant &agrave; la femme le droit de choisir son partenaire, alors que Mme Ulrich se moque du syst&egrave;me aristocratique des mariages arrang&eacute;s, qui ravale l&rsquo;&eacute;pouse au rang de commodit&eacute;.
